You’ll find both indoor and outdoor ice-skating opportunities in the Telluride Town Park. At the Hanley Rink, you’ll find a refrigerated, NHL-size hockey rink that is completely enclosed. The outdoor ice-skating option is on a natural, non-refrigerated rink that is open seasonally from mid-December to mid-February, and there is a warming hut available to escape the cold temperatures.
Skiing
In Telluride, children as young as age 2 can enjoy some safe, fun skiing time. Parents may feel free to hit the slopes while the children have some very special lessons at the Telluride Ski School, which is located at the Telluride Ski Resort. - Cubs (Ages 2-4): In this introductory class, a personal ski instructor will teach your child about the sport through special games and some fun sliding-around time on their skis in a safe area. This age group is kept outside for no longer than one hour.
- Otters (Ages 3-4): Beloved mascot, Olivia the Otter, helps your little ones enjoy their time in class. The ski instructor offers a valuable learning experience while encouraging fun in order to provide a positive experience.
- Bears (Ages 5-6): With the help of the Morris the Bear mascot, this program is geared towards getting the children on the slopes for the perfect interactive learning experience. This involves a full day of learning to safely navigate the mountain.
- Eagles Alpine (Ages 7-14): This program is for every skill level, and it’s designed to take your child to their next level of ability. Both skiing and snowboarding skills are taught by professionals.
Sleigh Rides
An amazing experience awaits you in Telluride in the form of an awesome sleigh pulled by two gorgeous Belgian draft horses that are known as Clyde and Frank.
